It is intriguing to me, to win the impacts music has toward individuals. Music impacts everybody here and there (positive or negative), yet I think it impacts undergrads the most. I might want to realize the reasons individuals are tuning in to music they purchase and support. Also, the reasons certain gatherings are more well known than others. I utilized a couple different strategies for research to direct my exploration. I reviewed ten studies with certain inquiries concerning sexual orientation, age, what they purchase, do they go to shows, and do they bolster nearby music. I passed these overviews out to totally irregular understudies so there was no awkwardness of the outcomes. I plan to discover certain things like: are guys influenced more than females from music; who purchases additionally garments/frill; is neighborhood music imperative to understudies. Another type of research was finished by making some observations.I watched places that understudies live. I watched a couple of my companions condos intently and furthermore watched a couple different houses that I was welcome to over the previous month. By doing this, I want to sum up what they like and how it impacts them. For instance, banners of music bunches hanging wherever will show an a greater amount of an impact than works of art, by state Picasso. Apparel, Jewelry, and real discourse from individuals may likewise give some fascinating subtleties. While mentioning these objective facts, I had likewise done a couple interviews.A couple were formal, plunk down meetings and the others were Just discussions that I thought would be useful to making my examination complete. Subsequent to thinking about to my outcomes, I chose to include a segment about my own history. For an amazing duration music has influenced me from various perspectives. It has helped me through some significant choices, for example, how I feel, who I am with, where I will go. At the point when I was ten years of age, I got my first guitar. It was an acoustic guitar. I wanted to play it, yet feared setting off to the exercises. My folks constrained me since I couldnt play a solitary note. After a year or two things began to meet up and I could play a few tunes. At that point I chose to buy an electric guitar. For me, this was the best thing to ever transpire. I played ordinarily whenever that I could. My preferred gathering was the Beastie Boys. My companions and I would imagine we were them and put on demonstrates professing to be them. As I got more seasoned, I would buy any music that I could; tape tapes, records, recordings, banners, anything that managed music. Around seventh or eighth grade, I bought a pre-owned drum set. My different companions all played, so we chose to shape a band.We would rehearse in the carport as much as frequently until my folks said enough, until it turned into a fixation. We played two or three gatherings (not much, since this was the eighth grade), yet at the same time a significant piece of my life at that point. One day during training, I recall my old buddy, the lead artist, disclosing to me booked a genuine gig, in downtown Pittsburgh. We prepared a set and about a month to Most individuals there were loved ones, yet at the same time a decent turnout. From that point forward I occasion been playing in a band, yet at the same time love making music. The vast majority of my companions are truly into music too.We trade music with one another and talk about it constantly. En I exchanged schools in secondary school, music truly helped me make a few companions. Introit music my life would be very surprising and much all the more exhausting, so Im happy it turned out thusly. I am exceptionally content with the outcomes that I got from the overviews. There were ten reviews rounded out. Of the ten, six were females and four were guys. Eight of the ten all loved rap/hip jump music or said rap alongside some different structures. The other two loved stone, punk, or reminder. Nobody put great stone as their decision (which I saw as ere intriguing, on the grounds that I like exemplary stone). There were two different inquiries I saw as particularly related. Everybody that gathers music, any structure, (CD, tape, or essentially) has garments or potentially embellishments that help music, for example, banners, T-shirts, and caps. Four out frequently said they routinely go to shows. I was exceptionally satisfied to hear that eight frequently bolster neighborhood artists/groups. I am a music darling, Assai you know) so the nearby scene is essential to me. Here is a diagram I developed from the reviews. Females Males The meetings came out to be extremely helpful too. I talked too music darling/performer/collector.His name was Neil and he was exceptionally helpful. We discussed the strange styles of music he enjoyed. He has a wide scope of music in his assortment. En discussed a portion of his preferred craftsmen, some being Pittsburgh based gatherings. He adores unrecorded music and goes to whatever number shows as could be expected under the circumstances. He said its difficult to get to places without a vehicle and with classes He additionally said l Just observed The Roots play for my 6th time a week ago, at a little spot in Oakland. We were discussing how they are unquestionably one of his top choices, in the event that he needed to pick. I asked him for what valid reason he was so into music. He answered Its a pressure reliever. It takes my brain off school, work, and people groups unimportance. Another meeting that I performed was not as formal. This one was with my father during supper. It was quite short and to the point. I inquired as to whether he prefers music. He said No. I at that point inquired as to whether he ever tunes in to it and he said No, when I am in the vehicle I tune in to the news or talk radio and when Im home Im either working or Matching TV. In the wake of doing this examination, I understood that by doing interviews you can truly feel the feeling from the appropriate responses contrasted with perusing a survey.I imagine that Interviews helped me make certain things more obvious on the study. Life vs. Death Penalty free essay sample
Capital punishment has been one of the most discussed subjects in America for quite a long time. It holds a similar degree of significance in governmental issues as fetus removal or weapon control since it is such a dubious subject. The position that I as of now hold with this discussion is nearer towards life in jail. Not on the grounds that I donââ¬â¢t completely accept that somebody who murders many individuals or does simply loathsome acts should 100% be rebuffed and perhaps slaughtered themselves, but since I discover more advantages towards saving somebody in prison forever. For instance, the expense to keep somebody in prison is significantly less expensive than it is to execute them. An investigation in 2011 indicated that it cost California more than $4 billion dollars to do executions since 1978. $1. 94 billion went towards the path, $925 million towards Automatic Appeals and State Habeas Corpus Petitions, $775 million towards Federal Habeas Corpus Appeals, and $1 billion went towards Costs of Incarceration. We will compose a custom paper test on Life versus Capital punishment or on the other hand any comparable point explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page Furthermore, we canââ¬â¢t overlook the amount it expenses to pay for the security watches who investigate these prisoners. The complete expense to pay these security watches a year comes up to $90,000 PER INMATE a year. Itââ¬â¢s additionally been said that capital punishment trails are multiple times more costly than a path for detainment without the chance for further appeal. In the event that the Governor of California condemned the detainees that are waiting for capital punishment to life in jail he could spare nearly $170 million every year! The Executive of the DPIC expressed, ââ¬Å"The capital punishment in the U. S. is a hugely costly and inefficient program with no unmistakable advantages. The entirety of the investigations on the expense of the death penalty finish up it is significantly more costly than a framework with life sentences as the most extreme punishment. In a period of agonizing spending reductions, states are emptying cash into a framework that outcomes in a declining number of capital punishments and executions that are solely completed in only one region of the nation. The same number of states face further shortages, it is a fitting chance to consider in the case of keeping up the expensive capital punishment framework is being savvy on wrongdoing. â⬠Another explanation that life in prison is a superior discipline is on the grounds that it is a real successful discipline. There is nothing that shows that capital punishment has been successful in bringing down violations. To be in a jail cell for as long as you can remember with nothing to do except for think, sit, rest, eat, and possibly a recreational action or two, that is in reality more regrettable than death. Being in jail sends a few people insane or can transform them totally, which I accept is a way better discipline since they are compelled to live with the wrongdoing that they submitted. Passing would be a simple and snappy way out. In truth, the death row detainees are doing only sitting, thinking, and pausing. That is the thing that they are doing, pausing. They are hanging tight for the end, since they, in contrast to different detainees, have an end. What's more, genuinely how could that be reasonable, we for reasons unknown believe that in the event that we execute them that will train them and others like them to never submit the terrible demonstrations again, when in reality we are making it straightforward for them. The DPIC official stated, ââ¬Å"The nationââ¬â¢s police boss position capital punishment rearward in their needs for powerful wrongdoing decrease. The officials don't accept capital punishment goes about as an impediment to murder, and they rate it as one of most wasteful employments of citizen dollars in battling wrongdoing. Criminologists agree that capital punishment doesn't viably lessen the quantity of murders. â⬠capital punishment is total, there is no turning around it so on the off chance that we execute somebody and more proof comes up that later demonstrates somebody blameless, we canââ¬â¢t reclaim the execution. 140 individuals were wrongly executed since 1973. The most widely recognized explanation behind individuals unfairly being accused of capital punishment are bogus admissions, witness mistakes, government unfortunate behavior, broken science, terrible legal counselors or nark declarations. Additionally in all honesty yet race plays a factor in whether somebody can get capital punishment versus life in jail. Pretty much 68% of detainees that are waiting for capital punishment are non-whites. We basically can't state we live in a nation that offers equivalent equity to all Americans when racial variations plague the framework by which our general public forces a definitive discipline. Representative Russ Feingold, 2003. In 1990, a report from the General Accounting Office said that 82% of the cases that were looked into demonstrated that if the criminal slaughtered a white individual they were bound to be sent to death row than if they murdered another minority. There are as of now 1,822 minority prisoners waiting for capital punishment and there has been roughly 394 minorities executed since 1976, contrasting this with the 1,475 white death row detainees and the 643 that have been executed. Something fascinating is the passing rate by crime in California changes sole by race. African Americans are multiple times bound to be killed than whites in California. While 27. 6% of homicide casualties are white, 80% of executions in California have been for those indicted for slaughtering whites. Ultimately, capital punishment is simply ethically off-base. How would we as a nation legitimize that somebody is being rebuffed for homicide or something of that sort and to address/rebuff this conduct we execute them. That is so in reverse. America is a nation that dislikes different nations who donââ¬â¢t esteem life however we donââ¬â¢t truly realize how to back up that reasoning since we are a nation who grew up knowing to fix issues with brutality. After George W. Bramble expressed in the 2000 presidential races, ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t figure you should bolster capital punishment to look for vengeance. I donââ¬â¢t think thatââ¬â¢s right. I think the motivation to help capital punishment is on the grounds that it spares different peopleââ¬â¢s livesâ⬠Family fellow fought back with, I bolster capital punishment to train individuals slaughtering isn't right Brian on Family Guy. When you consider it, how does slaughtering the prisoner keep us any more secure than simply keeping them in prison for eternity? Toward the day's end nobody is being hurt, and each and every individual who is outside of jail is sheltered. The groups of the casualties can have genuine feelings of serenity that they realize the individual will spoil in jail and every other person no longer needs to try and miracle if that individual will want them next. Itââ¬â¢s a success win circumstance. Until somebody thinks of an arrangement that is more financially savvy, accommodating, and still adequately rebuffs individuals for violations the equivalent or better than life in jail does, that is by all accounts the most ideal approach to deal with crooks.

Human Biology Digestive and Urinary System Essay Free Essays
Conceptual The human body needs to keep up legitimate homeostasis to endure. There are a few distinctive organ frameworks in the human body. Two of those frameworks are the stomach related framework and the urinary framework. We will compose a custom paper test on Human Biology Digestive and Urinary System Essay or on the other hand any comparative subject just for you Request Now The two frameworks expel squander from the body yet in an altogether unique manner. They additionally keep up homeostasis inside our circulatory system. The two frameworks are basic for endurance. This paper will portray how every one of those frameworks chips away at its own and furthermore how they cooperate to keep up homeostasis for the body. How the Urinary and Digestive Systems Work Together to Maintain Homeostasis The stomach related framework attempts to carry supplements into the body with a progression of empty organs cooperating reaching out from the mouth to the butt. These empty organs are the mouth, pharynx, throat, stomach, small digestive tract, internal organ, rectum, and rear-end. These empty organs make up the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The GI tract is helped by four adornment organs, the salivary organs, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Johnson) There are five fundamental procedures of the stomach related framework. These procedures are motility, discharge, processing, retention, and discharge. Motility is the mechanical handling and development of food taken into the body. Biting breaks food into littler pieces, and two kinds of development blend the substance of the lumen and push it forward. The lumen is within covering of the GI tract. Emission is the liquid, stomach related catalysts, corrosive, an tacid, bile, and bodily fluid that are discharged into the GI tract at different spots. Absorption is the place the substance of the lumen are separated precisely and artificially into littler and littler particles, finishing in supplement atoms. Retention is the thing that happens when the supplement particles go over the GI tract and into the blood. End is the entirety of the undigested material is disposed of from the body through the rear-end. (Johnson) These GI tract and the four frill organs of the stomach related tract cooperate to finish the five procedures so as to carry supplements into the body, and wipe out waste. The digestive organ assimilates supplements and wipes out waste. The small digestive tract assimilates supplements and water. The water and supplements consumed from the digestion tracts go into the circulatory system . (Johnson) The urinary framework comprises of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The ureters, bladder, and urethra transport and store pee until it is dispensed with from the body. The kidneys produce pee. Pee is the nitrogenous waste expelled from the circulatory system. It is basic to the body to expel this loss so as to look after homeostasis. (Johnson) The kidneys play out the entirety of the primary capacities in the urinary framework. They manage water levels in the body. At the point when you take in water each day it is dependent upon the kidneys to discharge the abundance water or to preserve however much as could be expected. The kidneys have an incredible ability to change water discharge as fundamental. Ordinarily with at least a half liter for each day to one liter for each hour. (Johnson) The kidneys likewise direct the nitrogenous waste and different solutes in our blood. One waste that is harmful to our cells is alkali. Smelling salts is detoxified rapidly by the liver by being joined with carbon dioxide to make urea. Urea is the principle squander item in pee. Sodium and chloride are both managed by the kidneys too. Sodium and chloride are both imperative to decide the volume of extracellular liquids, similar to blood. This legitimately influences circulatory strain. (Johnson) Other substances that the kidneys control are potassium, calcium, hydrogen, and creatinine. It is dependent upon the kidneys to keep up homeostasis with every one of these substances. Creatinine is a waste item that is delivered during digestion. This is one of the squanders that give pee a yellow shading. Johnson) The stomach related framework expels supplements and water from the food that we eat and drink and transports it to our circulation system. Any strong squanders that can't be processed are then killed from the GI tract. Our urinary framework at that point evacuates any of the undesirable and unneeded substances and squanders from the circulation system and discharges them in pee. This is the way homeostasis is ke pt up in our body with squander, so that there is no harmful develop in our body from specific substances. Homeostasis is basic to be kept up inside the body for endurance. Homeostasis is the bodyââ¬â¢s capacity to keep up moderately stable interior conditions despite the fact that the outside world is ceaselessly evolving. (Marieb) All living things must keep up an interior situation good with life, and the scope of substance and states of being perfect with life is extremely limited. (Johnson) In request for the stomach related and urinary frameworks to cooperate to keep up homeostasis the two frameworks must be working appropriately. First we devour food and water. At that point our stomach related framework ingests the supplements and water into our circulatory system. When the supplements and water is in our circulatory system our urinary framework the channels the blood and evacuates any extra waste and keeps up the correct homeostasis with the supplements we devour. On the off chance that our stomach related framework isn't working appropriately, at that point we can't assimilate the best possible supplements and liquids so as to permit our kidneys to channel our blood and look after homeostasis. In the event that our urinary framework isn't working appropriately than the supplements and liquids we devour can cause a development in our circulation system of poisonous squanders and liquids and lose homeostasis. Whichever way it is impeding to our body for this to occur. Our circulatory strain would be influenced harshly and this would cause issues with our cardiovascular framework as well as our respiratory framework. It is basic to keep the two frameworks beneficial to guarantee that our bodyââ¬â¢s have the best possible water and supplements to endure and that all waste is discharged from our frameworks. Why Does the Number of Sexual Assaults Continue to Increase throughout your Army - Free Essay Example
In the early 2000s, the United States Department of Defense started tracking more and more files of sexual assault, within the military, and reports have been higher in the Army than any other branch. From an article on ABC News (Luis, Martinez), The number of sexual assaults in the military reported by victims increased to 6,769 in 2017, a significant increase over the numbers for 2016 and the largest percentage increase in four years, the Pentagon said Monday. For about ten years, about 90 percent of these files of assaults and harassments were from Army soldiers. The new ways soldiers react today compared to how we used to treat these situations have made a major impact over the years. That to me has made more of an impact from the outside looking in at the fat that these cases are finally mitigated and not ignored more than before. In an article from (Army News Service, Dec. 4, 2014) (Dr. Christine T. Altendorf) said We have put a lot of focus and effort on this in the last couple of years, and we do believe we are making progress, Altendorf said. Do we still have more things to do? Yes. Will we continue to do more things? Yes. But we are making progress. The training from that time has only enhanced its methods and made soldiers more aware of real scenario and cases. They have implemented programs to help identify and prevent sexual assault and harassment, the most popular program is Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention, it maybe was not correctly understood of other methods of reaching out and helping others in need. The intent for all soldiers is to have them realize the programs are not just here to pacify what people think about any kind of assault or harassment, but to know that it is real, and they can easily prevent it. The change in the more recent programs to this day can always be improved the more people react and are more knowledgeable on the subject, because the more insight, the more you can dig deeper and answer questions that have not been answered from previous lessons. To understand the programs and to be confident in prevention is hard to implement if no one understands the reality of how serious a sit uation can become. To have an understanding about what it is, hoping to educate and give courage to those that are or may one day be affected. An individual not only a soldier can have the same resources and gain the amount of knowledge to know how to prevent and help others in need. You can always speak with an individual about their issues but the problem of helping is being insecure, and afraid of the outcome. Nevertheless, with the increasing number of files recorded might be a more positive sign more than a negative.

Current crisis of the European - 1100 Words
Current crisis of the European single currency (Essay Sample) Content: Name:University:Course:Tutor:Date:The EURO CrisisIntroductionEconomic crisis has on numerous occasions hit the world and the factors that have contributed to the crisis either directly or indirectly. It is worth noting that financial crisis is as a result of a combination of complex factors which include internal trade imbalances, high risk lending as well as borrowing among others. However, one of the financial crisis that shocked the EUROZONE and has had profound impact is the EUROZONE crisis; various scholars as such have come forth with different schools of thoughts concerning the crisis. One such scholar is Martin Feldstein argues that "the current crisis of the European single currency was an accident waiting to happen". To him he argued that the development of such economic structure was a ruthless, politically motivated experiment. Similarly the present problems facing member countries as a result of leaving country-specific economic policies and individual exc hange rates were predictable by economists politicians chose to ignore them (Feldstein, 2010). The paper will give the views of the researcher whether he agrees or not with Martin Feldstein argument. In doing so, the researcher will critically look into arguments for and against adopting a single currency economy. Additionally the major factors deemed to be responsible for the crisis of confidence in the EURZONE.Martin Feldstein argument and my viewsWith regards to EUROZONE crisis Martin Feldstein strongly believed that indeed the adoption of a single currency was an accident waiting to happen. The unpleasant cost of adopting a single currency on a incongruent group of countries were at first concealed by the short-run advantages that the weakest countries enjoyed when they adopted the euro in 1999 and by the favorable global economic conditions that prevailed until 2008 (Feldstein, 2010). In order to support or refute the claim, it is important to first examine the pros and cons of adopting a single currency economic structure. However it is important to understand the beginning of the crisis. The crisis in the zone started immediately the financial markets lost confidence in the creditworthiness of Greece and other periphery countries; this resulted in interest rates on government bonds going higher to levels that compelled the affected governments to ask for bailouts from international community, the European Community and the IMF.EUROZONE adopted single currency back in 1999 with the aim of empowering the member countries economically as well as politically. This is after the region tracked greater financial integration since 1957. There are two main categories of the advantages that come with the adoption of a single currency in the EUROZONE both leading to gains in economic efficiency. One important importance of such a concept is that the transaction cost will be eliminated. Usually transaction costs are manifested in several ways for instance fixed com mission as well as the spread between the buying and selling prices of any given currencies. It is worth noting that for the member countries which operate business with others in the same region, then the currency conversion cost is done away with for the member countries which are vital for both individuals as well as firms doing business with foreign partners (Rose Wincoop, 2001).On the same note a single currency ensures that there is a ground to compare prices, making price differences more noticeable as well as equalization across the borders. Scholars in the field of economy have held that the absence of transaction costs as well as transparency in prices creates a deep and more integrated financial market. This type of integration makes it possible for member countries to have various channels used to share risks. For instance when a member country is hit by negative shock, firms definitely make losses which result in lowered stock prices, on the other hand when there is a n economic boom in a another country, the stocks of firms in that country will go up contributing to profit making investors from the country hit by negative shock a new lease of life. Thus single currency allows country to share the risks of negative shocks. It has been argued that the justification for adopting single currency in EUROZONE is to avert the negative effects of exchanges rates. There is no doubt that uncertainty in changes in exchange rates hinders the flow of trade as well as investments. Thus in situations where business people are faced with trade opportunities or investment, they will be more attracted to countries where the risks of currency and interest rate changes are minimal (Artis, Hennessy Weber, 2000). However Feldstein, 2010 argued that a common currency means that every EUROZONE country has the same exchange rate, stopping the natural rate of adjustments that maintain national competitiveness when there are different trends in productivity and demand. A s such he posits that this denies some countries the opportunity to raise the real incomes of her employees. In fact this is what EUROZONE is trying to discourage a scenario where some countries are extremely richer than others.Despite the advantages mentioned above, single currency has a number of disadvantages. First the system brings costs to firms, individuals and other institutions to adjust to the new currency. Usually these parties have to incur huge costs in changing the invoices, price lists, office forms, payrolls, databases, bank accounts, and meters for postage as well as parking among other things (Rose Wincoop, 2001). For countries which had weaker financially, they have to engage in excessive borrowing in order to carter for these expenditures. This as explained by economists is a recipe for economic crisis (Artis, Hennessy Weber, 2000).Secondly single currency economy means that there is no national monetary policy which has been a vital tool for states to adjust t he economic equilibrium in situations where it faces economic shock. Usually economic shocks are unpredictable and unexpected and it characterized with disparity in production, consumption, investment as well as government expenditure (Feldstein, 2010).Factors responsible for the current crisis of confidence in the EURO zoneThere are a number of factors that played substantial role leading to the present crisis of confidence in the EUROZONE. Top on the list the inability of the government to service their debts. The debts resulted in heavy government spending and the desire to help those countries in problem to get out of the economic crisis. A typical example is Greece who received numerous loans for the pu...

His family was a very poor family. His fatherââ¬â¢s name was Baily and his motherââ¬â¢s name was Aretha. He was born during the Great Depression. When he was still just an infantâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The blindness never stopped Ray one bit. He acted as if he could see it all. How Democratic Is the American Constitution - 695 Words
Robert Dahls book How Democratic is the American Constitution, reminds us that the American Constitution wasnt the only possible base for a democratic system in America. In this book Dahl explains some of the democratic and undemocratic aspects of the American constitution. He also explains what should be changed to improve it. In chapter 2, Dahl begins explaining about the Framers of the constitution who had the task of basically creating a new government that combated all of the problems of the new United States of America. Moving on, Dahl explained that not only did ignorance hinder the Framers plans for a constitution but there were also limited on opportunities in that time period. One of these limits was the fact they were convinced that creating a republic was the only way to go. They surely couldnt purpose a monarchy or a government based on a hierarchy since they originally wanted to get away from the English monarch. A second limit was the existence of only thirteen states, which would complicate creating a central government. The delegates also had to confront several other issues before they could agree on a constitution. Two of the larger issues were slavery and representation in the Senate. It was then that within these limits that the Framers had to construct a constitution. Dahl explains that these limits caused the constitution to have serious undemocratic flaws. It neither banned slavery nor gave congress the power to do so; also the constitution didnt guarantee any right of suffrage and left that up to the states. The election of a president was left up to a body of presidential electors that was a group of men that would be unswayed by popular opinion to choose a chief executive. Government Dominated By Big Business - 900 Words
There has been a lot of fuss over big business influencing the government in the United States lately. Now there is no doubt that the business elite have some influence on politics. It can even be traced back to the early 1900ââ¬â¢s, when ââ¬Å"the Peopleââ¬â¢s Party had disintegrated, but many writers and activists have continued to echo the Populistsââ¬â¢ central thesis: that the U.S. democratic political system is in fact dominated by business elitesâ⬠(). Although there are countless arguments to go against this idea, the questions still comes up today: Is government dominated by big business? Political Scientist G. William Domhoff believes that government is dominated by big business. More specifically, Domhoff believes that owners and top-level managers in income-producing properties are not only dominant power figures in the US, but they also have inordinate influence in the federal government (). Another political scientist however, Sheldon Kamieniecki, believe s otherwise. He states that businesses do not really get involved in policies that affect them; and even when they do, their success rate at influencing policies is not consistent. In fact, he believes that other factions have more influence on government policies (). Letââ¬â¢s go a little more in-depth on Domhoffââ¬â¢s argument. Sorrow of War and Broken April Essay Example For Students
Sorrow of War and Broken April Essay Bao Ninh and Ismail Kadare use the characters and the events that occur within a particular setting to emphasize the characters personality and the relationships to one another. Bao Ninh and Ismail Kadare uses the relationship of Kien to Phuong during a time of war, Bessian to Diane, and Gjorg to Diane with a setting of blood feuds up in the mountains to express the lack of communication that the characters have which brought them to have a broken relationship at the end. In Sorrow of War Kien and Phuong are portrayed as childhood lovers. The setting of Sorrow of War is during the war time which creates this atmosphere for Kien, making him make himself private. But Phuong loves Kien a lot. Kien also loves Phuong, too, because to him she symbolizes physical warmth. A physical warmth that a man needs in war. If you look at it, Kien and Phuong does have a lot of physical human touch because during the night at the lake, Kien dared not sleep with Phuong, yet there was still a sense of completion and fulfillment of just lying there with her (Ninh 142). But as the story goes on Kien pushes Phuong away because he feels deserted and feels like he cant be in a relationship at all he had the guilt that he should of died during the war instead of living and feeling all the guilt and he did not want to hurt Phuong by making her feel that she may have a chance in a relationship with him. Kien is portrayed as a private guy; he is not very open so therefore he expre sses his thoughts, angers, and feelings onto war by writing it into his journals. The atmosphere towards the end on their relationship is cold and silent because in the story Phuong is described as a traditional upholding Vietnamese woman. She do have a beautiful face, hair waving, and lovely long leg all description of her being beautiful and fragile. Phuongs innocence and youth is also symbolized by the lake, which suggest about her immense purity before the war. But because of the war and the events that occurred for Phuong, such as when she was a victim of a gang rape, and Kien being a murderer right then. Phuong seeing that her character and views of Kien changes which turn to where she stops resuming her relationship with Kien. As for Kien he see Phuong more like-of a whore which made her lose the innocence within her, and its hard for her and Kien to mend their relationship. The relationship of Phuong and Kien was destroyed by the war because of the events that happens which causes both Phuong and Kiens loss of their innocence. It takes away Phuongs loyalty towards Kien, and stops them from resuming their previous relationship. But it may also seem that the war had a greater impact on Phuong as a person, as her optimistic, fragile, happy character is destroyed, and she is no longer able to accept Kien into her life. Despite the events that even Kien called her a whore on the train at the end; we see her as a strong woman, because, she seemed to be welcoming her new lifestyle, embracing it with a calm, carefree approach. From a pure, sweet, and simple girl she was now a hardened experience woman, indifferent to vulnerable emotions. To Kien she seemed to be walking away from his life, from herself, from her past, her country, and without the slightest regret (Ninh 223). This shows how much her relationship and the events that occurred with Kien made her stronger and not weaker. Even at the end when their feelings were never spoken out to one another; they went their own separate ways, with silent feelings for each other that were never spoken in words. .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .postImageUrl , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:hover , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:visited , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:active { border:0!important; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:active , .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5 .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uac9c2c8388015e8dbc45f40d1d77a9f5:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Myths - Explaining the Unexplained EssayIn Broken April Ismail Kadare uses the relationships of Bessian to Diane and Gjorg to Diane in a setting of blood feuds up in the mountains. The relationship of Bessian and Diane is that they are newlyweds. Bessian loves Diane, but do not really know how to express it. Bessian does not want to say anything because he does not want his wife to misunderstand and start an argument with her. Bessian even knew that his wife had other feelings and even thought the idea of going home tormented him more and more (Kadare 168) but he did it for his wifes sake. Even during those days he had been waiting to hear her say at last the words that w ould have been so natural..he had waited for those words impatiently, feverishly, the remedy for their trouble but she had not said them.he now found that he had no clue to what it might mean (Kadare 167). This shows how much he wont say anything to his wife but just wait for a cue from her. Just like how Bessian thought to himself why did you go there, he cried out within himto look for that mountaineer, That Gjorg (201). Bessian, however, is scared to find out the truth from Diana and what she is really feeling, No, it would be better that she keep silent all through this dreadful trialthat he never hear her say to him the things that would give him pain (176). As for Diane she is described as beautiful women but simple-minded. She on the other hand, doesnt say anything either to her husband Bessian, because he is enjoying the trip and she doesnt want to ruin it even though she doesnt like it and feels really uncomfortable. Their relationship is silent because they are unable to express their thoughts and feelings to each other even when they are married. This setting of Broken April is set up in the mountains where there is killings that the families have had going on for generations. But because of this, Bessian and Diane were able to meet Gjorg who just killed someone and was traveling to pay his blood tax. On his travel he encounters Bessian and Diane. After their meeting with each other Bessian spoke about Gjorg saying, a man must have the will of a titan to turn towards death on orders that come from a place so far away (Kadare 112) these words made Diane think a lot about Gjorg because of the situation Gjorg is. Although Gjorg and Diane never really talked, but are attracted to each other not realizing it. When Diane said, The name to herself and she felt that an emptiness was spreading inside her chest (Kadare 116). This made her attracted to the death of Gjorg and his bessa because she would often ask Bessian what the day was because she remembered that Gjorgs bessa was over in mid-April. Gjorg on the other hand is fascinated by the beauty of Diane when they made eye-contact. Dianes beauty resembles this love feeling for Gjorg that he never had a relationship due to the fact that his fiancà ¯Ã ¿Ã ½ passed away. The high plateau and the blood feud setting is a place where people lose their lives, which sucks the lives out of people who lives there because of all the blood feuds. Which connects to Diane because the setting of the blood feud sucks the feelings from Diane which makes her lose the feelings of loving her husband and thinking that she had married the wrong man. But she doesnt say anything at all. Analyzing the two stories relationships you can see a lot of similarities because the couples, they lack a good communication. Thats what creates a misunderstanding for them. If you look at it theres always interference between each of the relationship such as Kien and the war of how he couldnt be in a relationship and that he should have died during the war instead of living and feeling all the guilt making him push Phuong from him. Diane and Gjorg have silent relationship because they never had a chance to talk to each other. Lastly Bessian and his works because hes so attached and focus on wanting to visit the high plateau because he has written so many books about it that he didnt pay much attention to his wife making her feel like an outsider to him. Overall Bao Ninh and Ismail Kadare uses the events that occur within the setting to express the lack of communication that the characters have which brought them to have a broken relationship at the end.

The Gaming Wars Essays - Home Video Game Consoles, Wii, Xbox
The Console Wars Tommy Watson ENG121 Norma Turner 19 November 2010 The gaming industry has evolved tremendously over the past 20 years. Most of us can think back to the first video games we played and how astonished we were at what great graphics or unique control schemes they offered. It?s strange to look at how far they have come since then. One of the biggest changes in this industry is the emergence of the gaming consoles. Within the past several years, the industry has boomed into a very large business. Within this business, there are three big companies fighting to be the best. Sony?s Playstation 3, Microsoft?s Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii are the three main systems in this huge market. Because there are so many games for these systems, and because it is such a big business, stores are specializing in only these games are opening everywhere. I will be explaining some of the most noticeable differences between the three consoles, such as the hardware, controls and price. First is the Sony?s Playstation3 system which gives you everything you need in a game console, such as a built-in Blu-ray player for your HD movie collection, pristine picture quality delivered at 1080p, which is equipped with storage capacities of 120 GB, 160 GB, 250GB, and 320GB with built-in WI-FI. The prices for these systems vary depending on the how much storage capacity you want or need. For instance the 120GB and 160GB system retails at $299.99 while the 250GB and 320GB systems retails at $349.99, which includes one Dualshock3 wireless controller, AC power cord, AV cable and a USB cable. Now the accessories for this system are numerous. The Dualshock3 comes in various colors from red, silver, pink, green, blue, white and standard black. Other accessories include the Play Station Eye camera, Bluetooth Headset, Wireless Key pad, surround Sound system, HDMI cable several types of guns for use with shooting games. You also have the ability to get movies through a membership with Netflix. Second is the Microsoft?s Xbox 360 system which gives you everything you need in a game console. One of the main differences I have found in my research from the Play station 3, is the Xbox 360 is sold in bundle; you can no longer just buy the console. Some of the different packages of the Xbox 360 console are the 4GB hard drive which retails at $199.99, a 4GB console with Kinect and 250GB console which retails at $299.99, and a special edition 250 GB console with Kinects which retails at $399.99. All comes with a built-in WI-FI for easier connection to the world of entertainment on Xbox live, where HD movies and TV stream instantly in 1080pand 5.1 surround sound. Each console comes with a black wireless controller, a standard definition composite A/V cable and depending on the package comes with a Kinect Sensor, and one month Xbox Live membership. Now for the accessories you can buy separately are wireless controllers, Xbox 360 Chatpad, wireless Headsets, 250 GB hard drive, Xbox Liv e memberships of 3 and 12 months. There are games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band that involve accessories such as microphones, drums, guitars and even a keyboard. Other accessories include a rod and reel for games that involve fishing; several types of guns for use with shooting games. You also have the ability to view movies with a membership through Netflix. Third is the Nintendo Wii console which is more geared towards the family. It also comes in bundles which will include games like the Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, one Wii Remote Plus controller, one Nunchuk controller, sensor bar, standard composite cable and power cord. It also has a WI-FI built-in for easier connection to the internet. Other accessories are the Wii Balance Board, Wii Motion Plus, Nintendo points Card, Wii steering wheel, Wii Zapper,

Reflection Example
Reflection Example Reflection ââ¬â Coursework Example Sur Shades of Pink Different projects are conducted worldwide to engage children in different learning and study exercises. ââ¬ËShades of Pinkââ¬â¢ is also a learning project which included six preschoolers and their teacher. Through the collaboration of their teacher the preschoolers were able to learn different shades and colors of pink. This paper aims to discuss the project in brief as for how the children were engaged in the learning phase and how they showed creativity and rich understanding towards the project. The children were engaged in the project in a way that seemed interested. The teacher made them engaged in the project and emphasized on teaching them the shades through different experiments. All these theories and experiments were used as a tool of art which helped the children towards their learning and understanding of pink color (Kim)."Every child is creative and full of potential and has a desire and right to make meaning within a context of rich relationship s". The children are capable of learning and being taught through different ways. However, all of them make them learn and sharpens their learning capabilities and their understanding towards certain things. In this project the six preschoolers were first able to make a hypothesis. Once they made the hypothesis they tried to make its relation with that of the theories and their understanding through elaboration and testing. Once they were done with their expression with the help of their teacher Ms. Mistry they shared their ideas (Kim). When we talk about children and art and then it is important to understand that these two has a very strong relationship. It is the most powerful and simplest way for children to express and explore their selves. It is a kind of a child language. Therefore, Shades of Pink also took advantage of it and used it a platform to teach and educate the preschoolers. Work CitedKim, Bo Sun. "Shades of Pink." Youn Children March 2012: 44-68.

Love - veterans homelessness Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Love - veterans homelessness - Research Paper Example The term ââ¬Å"homeless veteransâ⬠has been explained in two steps in the Congressional Research Service article written by Perl (2011). According to Perl (2011), a homeless veteran is a person who has actively served in the military, naval or air force and was not discharged dishonorably. At the same time a person is considered a homeless veteran if he or she satisfies the definition of ââ¬Å"homeless veteranâ⬠according to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. According to the Act a person is considered homeless if he does not have a proper nighttime residence or his nighttime residence is temporary or not appropriate for human beings. In this paper I aim to discuss the veterans homelessness in San Francisco. I intend to explore peer reviewed books and articles for an in depth analysis of the literature, history and current status of the homeless veterans. At the same time the city policy towards the homeless shall also be discussed. Towards the end some of the main causes of homelessness among veterans shall be discussed. Homelessness has been a problem in the US since 1980s. However with the American involvement in the Iraq and Afghan war the problem has become much stronger as scores of veterans that have served the country are found dying on the streets. Veterans suffer all kinds of homelessness but their number is greater in the chronically homeless category when compared with the non-veterans. According to a survey carried out by the VA and quoted by Stone (2008), there are about 2, 075 homeless veterans in San Francisco. Out of these, 533 have been categorized as ââ¬Å"chronically homelessâ⬠. A chronically homeless person is an individual who has a disabling condition, is homeless for more than a year or has four episodes of being homeless in three years. The needs of the homeless veterans are almost similar to the demands of the general homeless population of San Francisco.
